ABT is developing, producing and marketing new active ingredients to the global personal care industry. Our products are based on extensive research and development in cooperation with Norwegian Universities. The novel marine active ingredients are derived from the pure and protected environment of Northern waters. All products are patented. ABT was founded in year 2000 by Professor Bernt Th. Walther (PhD). The company was based on our current flagship product, the novel protease (enzyme) Zonase™, derived from the hatching fluid of salmon. Later we added SMIDS™ to our product portfolio. SMIDS™ is based on joining two marine biopolymers which allows us to tailor the melting point of any water-lipid cream base. Further, SMIDS™ forms a bio-film that enhances the water content and softness of the skin. In addition to Zonase™ and SMIDS™, ABT has a promising product pipeline utilizing the world-leading knowledge of marine ingredients in Norway.

Aqua Gen is a selective breeding company which develops, produces and delivers genetic material to the global sea-farming industry. Through a market-oriented research and development Aqua Gen has achieved a leading position as a provider of fertilized eggs of Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout. Aqua Gen owns and preserves the world’s most refined genetic material from Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout. Since the 1970’s when collection of these fish species began, a continual research and development program has been carried on in cooperation with commercial operators and research institutions. By focusing on genetic traits related to health, animal welfare, growth and quality, Aqua Gen contributes an important component of a sustainable and profitable aquaculture industry.

BIO-MAR was founded with the mission to discover, develop and supply new bioactive compounds from marine microorganisms. The company has a dynamic collection of over 100 marine microorganisms exhibiting a diverse range of bioactivities and work in different therapeutic areas, focusing efforts in cancer and antibiotics. BIO-MAR's internal operations structure includes two units: The Microbial Biotechnology unit is devoted to the isolation and cultivation of rare marine microorganisms and the Biological Chemistry unit is devoted to discover new candidates to drugs and to assess their pharmacological value. The business strategy is based on: 1) Collaborative R&D with strategic partners to develop enhanced therapeutic candidates and 2) Direct production by fermentation of off patent compounds for resale to distributors to Research Laboratories.
