ASEBIO
ASEBIO brings together companies, associations, foundations, universities, technology and research centres that undertake their activities either directly or indirectly related to biotechnology in Spain. ASEBIO has acted as a meeting and promotion platform for those organisations interested in the development of the national biotechnology scene since 1999. ASEBIO therefore works in close collaboration with regional, national and European governments together with all those social organisations interested in the use of biotechnology for improving the quality of life, the environment and the generation of skilled employment. Its broad membership base makes ASEBIO the most appropriate scenario for meeting the challenge of developing the biotechnology sector and taking advantage of the innovation opportunities presented through biotechnology as an economic and social growth vector in Spain. ASEBIO belongs to and receives support from EUROPABIO, the European Association of Bioindustries and it is a member of the CEOE (The Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations). |

Assobiotec
Set up in October 1986 within the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry (Federchimica), Assobiotec is the Italian Association for the Development of Biotechnology, representing companies and science & technology parks operating in Italy and involved in various biotech-related fields – pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, agro-food, fine chemicals, environment, processing industry and equipment. Assobiotec’s mission is to be the reference for Italian companies involved in R&D, production and marketing of products and services derived from biotech applications: it protects their interests and promotes biotechnology as a whole, and represents the Italian bioindustry at National and international level through close interactions with the institutions and with trade and scientific organisations. Assobiotec focuses its attention particularly on the active collaboration with both National and EU institutions, aimed at setting up fiscal and financial policies fostering innovation, promoting R&D programmes of strategic interest to the bioindustry, and defining a clear regulatory framework for biotech-related activities (R&D, manufacture, marketing and use of products, intellectual property). |
